I attended the 137th AOAC Annual Meeting in New Orleans. This is first attendance at AOAC since Covid-19. I attended the 14th SPIFAN meeting to discuss the current developments in methods of analysis for infant formula and reviewing and developing standards for global acceptance.
Paper accepted for publication entitled "Analysis of Taurine in Infant Formulas and Adult Nutritionals by Hydrophilic Interaction Liquid Chromatography–Mass Spectrometry: First Action 2022.03" to be published in the Journal of AOAC International. This paper describes a single laboratory validation (SLV) of an LC-MS for the quantitation of taurine in infant formula.
Attended Pittcon, which is a conference and exposition on laboratory science, presenting the latest advances in analytical research and scientific instrumentation. Got opportunity to update my professional photos for free from a booth at the expo.

This paper describes the validation of an LC-Fl for the quantitation of aflatoxin M1 in dairy products.

This paper describes the validation of an automated immunoassay for the quantitation of undenatured lactoferrin in infant formula.
Paper accepted for publication entitled "Assessment of Regulatory Compliance Testing for Vitamin D in Infant Formula—Impact of Delegated Regulation (EU) 2019/828" to be published in the International Dairy Journal. This paper describes the challenges of meeting tight vitamin D specification limits using current testing technology.
Book published entitled "Understanding and improving the functional and nutritional properties of milk" containing a chapter on Advances in instrumental analysis of dairy products. This chapter discusses advances in instrumental analysis of dairy products. The chapter focuses on areas in which there have been significant advances in the last 10–20 years either in the analytical technology itself or, in some cases, where existing technology has found new areas of application within the dairy value chain.
